We at Railex love talking cold chain logistics, and in June we had some phenomenal guests to “chill” with at our Delano, California facility, all thanks to UC Davis’ Postharvest Technology Center.
Through its annual short course on Postharvest Technology (now 37 years strong), the center brings the best and brightest from farming, business, and government to UC Davis for 2 weeks. There they take a comprehensive look at postharvest topics aimed at reducing losses and improving the quality, safety and marketability of horticultural products. The course is topped off with a field tour of packing houses, storage facilities, and transportation services in the area, and Railex Delano has been lucky enough to be a stop on that field tour for the last three years.
This year 50 students visited, and we’ve received glowing reviews about the experience.
Tom Talley, Railex’s Regional Sales Manager of the Pacific Northwest region kicked off the visit with a presentation on the Railex cold chain logistics platform. Jamie Torres led the facility tour, along with help from many members of the Railex Delano staff.
We heard many students comment that Railex was the “cleanest” and most “top notch” facility that they toured during the week. In fact, quite a few named it as their favorite stop. That’s high praise given the top quality of the facilities visited by these students during the course.
That’s The Railex Difference
What made this tour so successful? We love what we do, and we treat your people, your products, and your business like our own. Your success rides with us, and we look forward to delivering every single day. That’s the Railex difference, whether it’s your goods riding the rail or a facility tour.
To our new friends from UC Davis and around the world: thanks for stopping by. Our doors – and our services – are always open.
